I saw a report a few minutes ago, alleging that the embattled Dowen College had resorted to online teachings, despite being shut down. It’s difficult for me to believe, because that would be further complicating their situation.
I also understand that the state is already investigating that allegation of disobedience to official order. Possibly, arrests would be made too, if it’s true.
But that’s not the reason for this fourth intervention on the Sylvester Oromoni matter. I have a problem with the thinking of the authorities at Dowen College and their capacity to critically analyse their current challenges.
First, the shutdown of the college should have been their idea, if they had some senses in their empty heads, because the death of a minor occurred under their poor supervision.
Two, I had expected the school authority to opt to assist the state government and the police; and issue a statement to that effect.
I should have read from the school, that after their initial nasty explanation of what might have happened, they were broken by the death of that boy and would do everything to assist the police in their investigation of the culprits, especially, given the allegation of cultism in their school.
I also expected them to address the fact that the school would take internal measures to review the entire gamut of the sordid stories, and going forward, promise that such a thing would never happen again, because drastic actions would be taken.
Above all, they should have reiterated their commitment to Sylvester getting justice. Unfortunately, the school has been criminally quiet and would rather it wasn’t dragged into this at all.
I’m convinced that the school is either unfit to exist or it is being run by misfits. Their handling of this matter, and perhaps, their implied role, is enough for every sensible parent to withdraw their wards from there.
It is Sylvester today, it could have been any other child. Justice shouldn’t have colours or any other leanings outside of TRUTH.
Honestly, Dowen College should have done better, but obviously, they couldn’t give what they didn’t have. Sad.
