The chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has denied knowledge of any youth empowerment programme embarked upon by the commission and also dissociated himself from the purported scheme.

Making this known to the public and warning the public to be wary of such scheme used to scam unsuspecting youths and their parents, the honourable’s media office said, “It has come to the attention of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo that his name is being bandied as the organizer of a purported NDDC Youth Empowerment Scheme, that is billed to come up on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Dome in Akure.

“For the records, Hon. Tunji-Ojo is not aware of this program and could therefore, not be responsible for what he is completely unaware of.

“Therefore, we want to bring to the attention of the general public that the Chairman of House Committee on NDDC is not a party to this purported empowerment program and will not be responsible for whatever happens during and after the event.”

The statement further called on youths of Niger Delta in particular, and the public in general to be wary and not fall victims of scammers who are out to rip off Nigerians of their hard earned money in the name of non-existent empowerment scheme.
