Former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has spoken about his aspiration to become the next President of Nigeria and his relationship with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu.
In a recent interview, Okorocha said that his focus is on improving the quality of life for children and widows.
Recall that Okorocha recently declared his desire to be the country’s next president in 2023.
During the interview, the former governor was asked about the ‘friction’ between him and his successor, and he said, “I love peace, and I can not hurt an ant. I love people, and I love the needy. My mind is preoccupied with the thought of helping children and widows wherever they may be.
“I want to see how I can improve their lives. During my eight years as governor, widows did not have to sell their properties to pay school fees, and the youths got engaged with work. There is nothing to quarrel about, as I have no issue with the governor. However, I am on the defense, and I want peace.”
On his relationship with Asiwaju Tinubu, Okorocha said, “Political campaigns in Nigeria should focus on issues and not the health and the age of an aspirant. I believe in the vision.
“When I sit down with Asiwaju Tinubu, and we both proffer our solutions for Nigeria, I will ‘sub-stream’ by ambition for Tinubu if his solutions for Nigeria are better than mine.”
