In it’s bid to complete the Ijumu Unity Hall in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, the apex socio-cultural body of the Ijumus, the Ijumu Development Union, IDU, has called for the concerted support of all sons and daughters, as well as friends of the Ijumus and also called onthe local government to come to her aid.
This is just as the IDU has concluded plans to hold a mini fund raising and its Annual General Meeting, AGM, on Tuesday 28th December 2021.
IDU National President, Chief Kayode Olorunmaiye, in a statement made available to newsmen appealed for the support of Ijumu people for the completion of the project.
Olorunmaye said, “Please we are using this medium to remind you all on behalf of the IDU on the fundraising programme coming up on 28th December, 2021, simultaneously with the Annual Conference.
“Ibadan people built Mapo Hall, Abeokuta people built the Ake Centenary Hall, Ake-Abeokuta; Lagos People built the Lagos City Hall; thus Ijumu people had planned to build the Ijumu Hall of Unity since 1976, during the reign of Oba Jacob Owonibi and we ‘re still on it up till now.”
He further maintained that “you may even asked why we have not succeeded up till now, when the Igala House, started about two years ago has been completed at Anyigba. What’s responsible for our lagging behind? Your guess is as good as mine.”
He added, “Let’s put all sentiments apart and join all our progressive donors to see to the completion of the project. please no amount is too small; remember, Ijumu is our beloved kingdom. Please lend hands to its completion.”
He appealed that donors can send their donations to the IDU account number 2023473245, domiciled at First BANK Plc.
