The Edo State Police Command has paraded 25-year-old Dominion Okoro for the killing of Mrs. Maria Igbinedion, mother of former governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion.
Okoro, who gave a graphic description of how show killed the former governor’s mother confessed that she hit her with a stool on her head to avoid being caught after an attempt to steal.
She confessed that she sneaked into Mrs Igbinedion’s room and made an attempt to steal her N100,000, gold necklaces and a wristwatch.
Okoro said that when she saw that the deceased saw her while trying to steal the items and wanted to raise an alarm, she quickly hit her head with a stool.
She said that the woman died immediately.
The suspected killer said that she hurriedly packed her belongings and ran to stay with her elder sister in Cross River State.
While being paraded, she told journalists, “I am here because I killed somebody. Nothing happened between us. My madam and I never had any quarrel. I have been with my madam for one year and three months before this thing happened.
“I wanted to take her money from her drawer. It is only N100,000 that I found in the drawer.
“I took her gold necklace and wristwatch and ran to stay with my elder sister in Cross River.”
