The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, on Saturday assured his supporters that he would emerge victorious at the end of the electoral process in the ongoing governorship and House of Assembly polls.

Otu made the remarks while speaking with journalists, after casting his vote, at his home town, Adiabo-Okurikang ward, Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Otu, who is optimistic and hopeful of coasting to victory at the end of the election, expressed strong conviction that he will emerge victorious cling at the end of the polls.

The one time House of Representatives’ member for Calabar Municipality/Odukpani federal constituency and one-time senator representing Cross River South senatorial district, charged the electorate to shun violence in the course of discharging their civic responsibility.

He acknowledged improvement by the Independent Natıonal Electoral Commission, INEC, in terms of preparation for the election, stressing that with the massive support he has from his people, he is sure of sweeping the polls.

Otu expressed worry over voter turnout, and expressed confidence in the electoral process and hoped that the country is on the path that would lead to greatness.

He said, “As a country, we are certainly on the right path to victory. Even though we have a few issues here and there, we believe that we can only get better as a country.

“I believe we will certainly emerge victorious. We are winning, there is no doubt about that. The people are on our side, God is on our side. Our future can only get better.”
