Glory Tete-Ephraim has won the just concluded Queen of Humanity Beauty Pageant Season 2, coasting home with the N5 million star prize and a brand new Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, yesterday in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

The pageant is one of the top events and activities lined up by the Cross River State government to spice up the Carnival Calabar Festival.
As an incentive, the beauty queen is entitled to a monthly salary that would last until she exhaust the tenure of her reign.

Also to benefit from the contest is the first runner-up, Miss Deborah Aki, who took home N3 million, while the second runner-up Miss Ritermiquin Odey, took home N1.2 million, while the rest of the contestants went home with N200,000 each as consolation prizes.

Speaking shortly after the judges handed over the beauty queen crown to Miss Precious, the wife of the governor of Cross River State, Bishop Dr Eyoanwan Otu, stated that the Queen of Humanity Beauty Pageant was initiated by her to honor the imminent potentials of the girl-child, given the challenges involved to raising female children.

Otu’s wife stated that the wisdom about the project transcends beauty and brain as the project serves as a catalyst for a brighter future.

The governor ‘s wife charged the new queen to champion transformative agenda that would harness the potentials of the girl-child.

In an Interview, the outgoing Queen of Humanity, Miss Margaret Ekpo, lauded the First Lady for her bold initiative in fostering such a laudable project which has provided a challenging platform for girls to express themselves and their talents.

She stressed that the knowledge gained during her reign would shape her world view as well as create confidence in the minds of young girls to the effect that life is a challenging venture that requires zeal and determination to excel

Also speaking, mother to the newly-crowned queen, Mrs.Nya Ani, who spoke with tears of joy rolling down her cheeks, lauded the organizers of the contest for finding her daughter worthy of wearing the crown.
