In what appears like New Year gift to the institution’s workforce, the Professor Felix Kolawole Salako-led management of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB, has promoted 500 members of staff.
A statement by the Head, Public Affairs Directorate, Kola Adepoju, stated that the promotion came barely a week after members of staff of the citadel of learning resumed from the New Year break, thus throwing the Alabata permanent site and Mahuko Mini Campus into celebration galore within the first few days of the year.
Giving a breakdown of the promotion, the Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola, in a release disclosed that 29 of the members of the academic staff have been elevated to the position of Professor, 19 to Readers, while 35 other academic staff are also elevated to higher positions.
Dr. Adekola, who is also the Secretary to Governing Council, further informed that 320 senior non-tea-
ching staff and 97 junior staff were promoted to higher positions with effect from January 1, 2022.
The Registrar expressed gratitude to the Governing Council, which acted through the Appointments and Promotions Committees for academic staff and non-teaching staff and the committees aforementioned for enhancing service delivery without compromising standard.
