The Federal Government, under the ecological office, has provided Nasarawa State with a waste recycling plant, to recycle all waste materials in the state for sale.

The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Musa Ibrahim, disclosed this on Saturday in Lafia, shortly after the month environmental sanitation exercise for the month of July.

The commissioner therefore said work on the recycling plant provided by the Federal Government for the state has reached completion stage.

He continued, “What the ministry is doing now is to install the machines that would ease the work of waste materials recycling in the state. Very soon waste material is going to be a scarce commodities in Nasarawa State, because there is plan to recycle all waste materials and turn them into wealth.

“So, we have already had off-takers on ground that are ready to buy pallet after the recycling. Therefore, we advised people of Nasarawa State to continue to comply with our directive, because dumping of waste materials on water channels is not good for us.”

Ibrahim concluded by also informing that the state Task Force on Environmental Sanitation has arrested about 18 violators of this month’s sanitation exercise and the offenders have been charged to court for sanction acccordingly.
