The acting Provostnof the Federal College Education, FCE, Obudu, in Cross River State, Alhaji Ladan Chado, yesterday charged new students of the institution to shun anti-social behaviours, like examination malpractice, cultism among others, or be shown the way out of the qcollege.

The Provost dropped the charge while addressing about 1,110 new students during the 38th matriculation ceremony, organized by the college to usher in fresh students offered admission for the 2020/2021 academic session, to enable them pursue various National Certificate in Education, NCE, programmes in different fields of human endeavors.

Warning that the FCE under his watch shall have zero tolerance for behaviors that are capable of dragging the good name of the institution built over the years in the mud, Chado said that students caught violating the institution’s rules and regulations shall be shown the way out of the college to deter others wishing to toe similar lines from doing so.

He said, “Anti-social behaviors like stealing, examination malpractice, cultism, sexual immorality, indecent dressing, among several other vices shall not be tolerated.”

The Provost of the college urged the matriculating students to focus on their studies, conduct themselves in a discipline manner that can help them graduate from the college in flying course, despite the challenges that they are wont to be faced with.

Chado stressed that the FCE under his watch has evolved a workable arrangement to make it possible for certificates to be issued to discipline/deserving students after completing their academic programmes.

The FCE Provost enumerated capital projects completed and handed over to the college management for use by staff and students to include: Technical Education Department Building at the Bebi Campus, Technical Education Workshop also at the Bebi Campus.

Other capital projects executed as enumerated by the Provost include: the School of Early Childhood Care Education Building, the School of Adult, Non-Formal and Special Education Building, the Science Complex, the College Pavilion, Theatre Arts Auditorium and the 250-capacity lecture/conference hall, library complex among others.

He also urged the students of the college to take up the gauntlet and ensure that they overcome distractions that may prevent them from achieving their goal in the College.

In his goodwill message to the students and staff of the college, the Chairman of the 7th Governing Council, Professor Taoheed Adedoja, who was represented by the college Provost, expressed great commitment and enthusiasm towards moving the college forward to an enviable heights, charging the students of the college to be good ambassadors of the institution, even after they complete their academic programmes.
