The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, is standing on a quick sand if he expects his emotion against the election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to hold water.
This was the contention of the Head of Media and Publicity of the Directorate of Diaspora Affair of the All Prohressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, PCC.
Odere said this while reacting to a statement by the vice presidential candidate of the LP Datti Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, when he was on an Arise Television programme that “their, LP’s, legal team had dealt a sucker punch on the President-elect where he never expected.”
Odere said, “Since Peter Obi has demonstrated how dull and provincial he is in the way he pursued his failed presidential bid, Nigerians do not expect his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, to be any different.
“So, when he, Baba-Ahmed, came on Arise TV, one of their propaganda machines, grinning from ear to ear and with youthful exuberance claimed that their legal team had dealt a sucker punch on the President-elect where he never expected, I wonder if their lawyers had done enough due diligence before rushing to the court to file their case, to know that there was a letter, as far back as 2003, which was addressed to then Inspector General of Police, IGP, late Tafa Balogun, from the United States of America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation, USA FBI, via the American Consulate in Nigeria that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was never convicted of any crime.
“I wonder what makes Peter Obi and Yusuf Baba-Ahmed keep thinking that the President-elect is still their mate.”
