The Kwara State government’s anti corruption war, in partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, may now involve working with the state’s internal revenue service.
This was made known in Ilorin when the management of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, KWIRS, led by its Executive Chairman, Mrs. Folashade Omoniyi, visited the Ilorin Zonal Office of the EFCC. O
Omoniyi had said during the visit, “We need good relationship with a Federal Government agency like the EFCC. I’m here with the management staff of Kwara State Revenue Service to pledge our support to the fight against corruption.
“Integrity is very key in whatever we do, I know we need to be open and transparent in the discharge of our duties; we are seeking for your guidance please.”
In his response, the zonal head of the Ilorin office of the EFCC, Mr. Kazeen Oseni, while appreciating the KWIRS delegation, pledged and vowed a better collaboration with the revenue service.
He said, “We have being working together for a long time, you are one of the stakeholders in the fight against corruption; the EFCC will always respond when you call on us for any assistance, our doors are opened 24 hours.
“I must also emphasise that you will make our job easier when you do the right thing, you must do the right thing at all time, and also keep your records safe; this is very important in public service.”
