The Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned the trio of Oyetunde Oluwole Gabriel, Mokwunye Emmanuel,  Sanusi Mohammed and two companies, namely: Emgab Oil and Gas Limited and Petrofields Oil and Gas Limited, before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court, sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a three-count charge bordering on alleged stealing to the tune of N9,240,000.00 (Nine Million, Two Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira).

One of the counts reads, “That you, Oyetunde Oluwole Gabriel, Mokwunye Emmanuel, Sanusu Mohammed, Emgab Oil and Gas and Petrofields Oils and Gas Limited, on or about the 19th day of July 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly stole and converted to your own use,  the sum of N9,240,000.00 (Nine Million Two Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira), property of Abubakar Ismail Yakubu, Managing Director, Yankari Oil Company Limited.”

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them, prompting the prosecution counsel, S.O.Daji, to ask for a trial date.

However, the defence counsel told the court about a pending application for bail for the defendants.

After listening to both parties, Justice Dada granted the defendants bail on self-recognition and also adjourned to Monday, September 14, 2020.
