The Nasarawa State chapter of the National Youth Congress, NYC, has commenced mobilisation of youths in Nasarawa State to participate in the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s continuous voters registration, CVR, exercise.

Chairman of Nasarawa State chapter of the NYC, Kefas Elisha Tigga, stated this yesterday at a press conference in Lafia, explaining that youths’ relevance in the political equation lies in their number.

The youth chairman said, “The youths must realize that our relevance in the political equation of the state is in our number, and the strength of our number must be demonstrated by our ability to influence the ballot box.

“We demand that both the government and the security agencies should step up their strategies in securing the lives and property of the entire indigenes of the state.

“We also ask for all to remain calm and patient as we continue to partner with the government, the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the security agencies for the progress of Nasarawa State.”

Tigga concluded by commending the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, for his leadership qualities and sense of responsibility in handling the affairs of the state.
