Arrangements are in top gear by the Cross River State government to hold an International Cooperation and Investment Summit in Calabar, the state capital.
The conference, scheduled to take place by August ending at the Calabar International Convention Center, CICC, would bring paradigm shift as far as investment opportunities are concerned in the state.
Themed: “The Paradigm Shift,” the summit would have the keynote address presented by the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Access Holdings Plc, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, while the Director, Nigeria Country Office of the African Development Bank, AfDB, Mr Lamin Barrow, is the Guest Speaker.
Other speakers expected to grace the summit include: the Vice President, Operations, Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Bank, Dr. Olagunju Ashimolowo, alongside 18 other dignitaries from different parts of the world.
Speaking with our correspondent on Monday in Calabar, the Chairman of the Organising Committee Mr Victor Edet, stated that apart from featuring prominent guest speakers across the world, the summit would bring together international development organisations.
Edet stated that leaders of thought, and organised private sector from around the globe would be present at the mega event
He said, “The summit will help in strengthening the Small and Medium Enterprises, SMEs and the infrastructural development in emerging markets.
“It will help in attracting investment to the state and countering regional insecurity for sustainable growth.
“Also, it will promote international cooperation and enable the government to identify innovative solutions to solve the development challenges confronting the state, among others.”
