The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Stephen Odey, at the weekend interred the remains of his late father-in-law, Pa Godwin Enya Atabe, at Itekpa village, Abuochiche, in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The burial ceremony was witnessed by many, including top government functionaries, stakeholders of ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, within and outside the state were on ground to pay respects to the late Pa Atabe.

Cross River State government officials who stormed the venue of the burial ceremony include the Spekaer of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, the Chief of Staff to Governor Basset Edet Otu, Mr. Emmanuel Ironbar, the chairman of the state chapter of the APC, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar, aka Chartered Orator, among others who showed up to commiserate with Senator Odey over the demise of his father-in-law.

In his welcome remarks, the Education Commissioner expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all who showed up at the ceremony to sympathize with the family of the deceased during their period of grief, asking God to bless them for their show of love.

The former parliamentarian described his late father-in-law as a philanthropist and a man of wisdom, who impacted so much in him and in the lives of many, advising all to emulate the virtues of his late father in-law in all ramifications.
