The leadership of the Cross River State Anti-Tax Agency, has lauded the governor-elect, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and his running mate, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, over their victory at just concluded March 18, 2023 governorship polls, where both candidates swept the polls overwhelmingly.
Congratulating the duo on their emergence as governor-elect and deputy governor-elect, in a telephone conversation with our correspondent in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, the chairman of the agency, Bishop Dr Gospel Emmah Isong, stated that the emergence of the duo in the contest wasn’t a mistake, but a pointer that they were loved by residents of the state.
He averred that their overwhelming victory at the polls is a prove that both were called to serve the people of the state.
A congratulatory letter from the agency, made available to our news desk in Calabar stated that the trust and confidence which the people reposed in the duo is behind their choice to lead the state.
The letter, dated March 24, 2023, and signed by the Secretary of Anti-Tax Agency, Rev. Fr. Associate Prof Julius Ada, reads, “Cross Riverians have demonstrated their trust and confidence in you as shown in your victory at the polls, which was “a no surprise to Cross River State Anti-Tax Agency; as we prayed for the right choice in you.”
The letter continued, “We pray God who has appointed you to serve the good people of Cross River State to ease your responsibilities with his corresponding enabling grace for you and consolidate on the gains, good vision, passion and good will of Senator Prof Ben Ayade for the low income earners, the poor, vulnerable and downtrodden Cross Riverians by making Cross River State a comfortable, peaceful and sweet state, as your name implies, for all for all.”
“The Anti-Tax Agency congratulated all Cross Riverians for this divine choice and pray all to cooperate with your incoming administration to move the state to next level.”
