For his intervention in the security situation in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, leading to the killing of over 50 cows by two unidentified helicopters, the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, was Monday commended.

Reports had it that in the early hours of last Sunday, two unidentified helicopters invaded Gidan Awam settlement along Keana – Giza road in Keana Local Govwrnment Area, bombing several cows and humans.

An eye witness account said no less than 50 cows were killed, while scores of persons sustained various varying degrees of injuries during the two helicopters’ invasion.

Director of Personnel Management, DPM, overseing the affairs of the council area, Abubakar Ibrahim Galadima, gave Governor Sule the commendation in a statement signed by the Chief Information Officer of the local government area, Jibrin Isa Musa, and made available to journalists in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Consequently, the Keana Local Government Area DPM, acccording to the statement, visited the site of the incident to confirm the attack on the settlement by the two unidentified helicopters.

The statement continued that during the visit, the DPM used the occasion to sympathise with the Fulani who were victims of the attack, urging them to take the incident as an act of God, promising to forward the report of his finding to the state governor for prompt action.

The statement said, “Government will investigate the root cause of the invasion of the two helicopters in order to stop further occurence. We assure you of government intervention into your plight, by way of providing necessary assistance to those that lost their properties.”
