A 300-Level student of the Department of Physics with Electronics, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, in Oyo State, has built a solar-powered automatic hand-washing machine, as part of his little contribution to assist in curtailing the spread of coronavirus.
Special Assistant to the Oyo State governor on Student Matters, Mr. Victor Olojede, speaking at the display of the automatic hand-washing machine at the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, said that it is a thing of joy to see students in the state rising up to contribute their own quota to support the government at this trying time.
Emphasising that he will ensure that government at all quarters in the state partner with the young, brilliant student and also see that the project is well executed for use in Oyo State, the SA Student Matters also assured that through his office, the state government will continue to promote and support innovation of students.
The Secretary to the State Government, SSFG, Mrs. Olabamiwo Adeosun, commended the student for making judicious use of the pandemic period to proffer a stress-free measure to curtail the spread of the global COVID-19 pandemic
Applauding the student-inventor for a job well done, the Chief of Staff, CoS, to Governor Seyi Makinde, Chief Bisi Ilaka, enjoined other students to emulate their colleague, who has proved to be a shining light and made the entire student populace proud.
The Permanent Secretary, Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Atere, congratulated the student for putting his creative mind to use during this pandemic and coming up the great initiative.
