…Sets Up Committee On Mass Production Of Face Masks
The Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has as part of the efforts to contain the further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state, approved the setting up of a special committee for the mass production of nose masks for the use of the people of the state.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Segun Ajiboye, disclosed that the setting up of the committee was a follow-up to the decisions taken at the virtual meeting of South-West governors, held on Thursday, April 18, 2020.
The statement added that the South West governors also resolved that wearing of nose masks will be made compulsory for every individual in all the South-West states, effective from Friday, April 24, 2020.
According to Ajiboye, membership of the committee include: Mr. Gani Muhammed Ajowa, chairman; president of the Ondo State chapter of the National Union of Tailors, Pastor Niyi Ale, member; Mrs. Eunice Titilayo Oparinde, member; Mrs. Sarah Emmanuel, member and
Pharmacist Folake Aladenola, secretary.
Among other things, the committee is saddled with the responsibility of sourcing for materials for the production of nose masks, identifying
qualified tailors across the three senatorial districts of the state and put in place machinery for the distribution of
nose masks to all residents of the state.
