In his bid to ensure that his constituents observe the stay at home order to stop the spread of COVID-19 and ensure their comfortability while staying at home, the member representing Ndokwa East state constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Friday Ossai Osanebi , has released N10 million and food items to be shared to his constituents.
Food items donated by the House member include: 650 bags of rice, 600 cartons of noodles, 250 cartons of vegetable oil, and 500 cartons of tin tomatoes.
The cash and food items are programmed to be shared to all the communities that make up the Ndokwa East state constituency to cushion the effects of the lockdown ordered by the state government.
Delivering the largesse to different group leaders in the constituency, Hon Osanebi, who said this is the first batch, noted that the materials are to consolidate on the ones earlier sent to ensure the comfort of his people during the stay-at-home order, which was declared to forestall the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The N10 million donation was handed over to the National President and chairman of community and clan youth presidents, Com. Benjamin Onwugbolu and Adam Oseji respectively, for distribution to all communities in the constituency, targeting especially the youths.
The 650 bags of rice were handed over to the Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the constituency, Mrs. Tina Eriano, with the mandate to to ensure each household in the constituency benefits, to ensure that they are not tempted to go out in search of what to eat during the lockdown.
The aim of the relief package is to ensure that youths, especially have cash in pocket to motivate them to stay at home and have no reason to go out to engage in activities that could be counter productive.
Thee former Deputy Speaker has also thrown open the doors to his fish fame for his constituents to harvest fish from his fish lake, one of the biggest in the state, to complement the food items shared to them.
