Kwara State now has a total number of 165 active cases of corona virus while expecting results of 122 test cases.

A table from the state Technical Committee on COVID-19, released by Rafiu Ajakaiye, spokesman of the Committee at the weekend gave the information.

However, out of 5,418 tests taken, 4,394 came out negative, while 992 were confirmed positive.

A total of 799 cases were treated, tested two times, found positive and discharged.

Meanwhile, the state has so far recorded 21 fatalities from the pandemic.

A breakdown of the suspected presence of the disease shows that Ilorin South Local Government has the highest number of 438 suspected cases; followed by Ilorin West Local Government with 387 suspected cases.

Other local governments with suspected cases include: Ilorin East, 95; Offa, 25; Ifelodun and Asa, 16 each; Edu, 4; while Oke Ero and Irepodun have 3 suspected cases each.

Others are: Moro and Oyun, 2 suspected cases apiece and Ekiti with just one suspected case.

In all, 12 of the 16 local government areas of the state were suspected to be harbouring the presence of COVID-19.
