For her failure to visit her boyfriend after collection N3,000 transportation fare from, a lady, Chinasa Nwibeh, was arranged in court following her arrest by the police in Enugu State.
An Enugu Magistrate Court, in its judgment, ordered Ms Nwibeh to pay her boyfriend, one Mr. Emeka Nwankwo the sum of N150,000 for her failure to visit Nwnakwo, after collecting N3,000 from him as transport fare for the trip to his house.
The prosecutor I formed tbe court that the girl ate the money and switched off her phone.
The boyfriend thereafter went to a near by police station and reported the case, following which she was arrested and charged to court for criminal breach of trust.
The court ordered her to pay N100,000 with an additional interest of N50,000 for emotional damages, as it was established that the boyfriend was emotionally abused by absence of the girlfriend.
The boyfriend, Nwankwo, presented to the court evidence of the mobile money transfer he made to her and all the WhatsApp messages they shared before making the transfer to her.
In her judgment, the judge said that the judgment was handed down to Ms Nwibeh to serve as a deterrent to other ladies, who indulge in such a stupid act.
