A traditional ruler in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Umaru Usman Dodo, was Monday accused by his subjects of negating the peace efforts of the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, to curtail crisis in the state.

The accusation was made by the Tiv community in Kadarko chiefdom in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, through its spokesman, Mr. Emmanuel Ornguga Uwuaun, at a press conference in Lafia.

The traditional ruler, who is the Osokadoko of Kadarko, was also accused by the Tiv community of fomenting crises in the chiefdom on a daily basis.

Uwuaun said, “The traditional ruler has forcefully taken over our ancestral farmlands, some of which he farms himself and as well as sell some to Fulani herdsmen. The Osokadoko also incites the Fulani herdsmen to fight and displaced us, so that he could take over the land he always claims ownership of.

“The Executive Chairman of Keana Local Government Area, Adamu Adi Giza, who also exhibited the same hate attitude, as well as the chiefs of Kadarko and Giza, by labelling the Tiv people of the local government as killers of the Fulani.”

Uwuaun therefore challenged the Keana Local Government Area chairman to come forward with evidence of proof.

However, the Tiv community spokesman appreciated Governor Sule in his efforts at taming the lawlessness of the Osokadoko of Kadarko, whose tyranny and gross abuse of monarchical privileges had negated the governor’s efforts to ensure a peaceful Nasarawa State.
