At the intersection of marketing and technology, Fisayomi Ajayi has spent her career proving that the two fields are inseparable in today’s digital landscape.

She told CompassNG, “Technology is meaningless unless it connects with people,” while speaking with our correspondent via a call from her office, where she now works on sustainability initiatives for a global retail giant.

At her first role with a rising fintech company, Ajayi revolutionised how users engaged with complex financial tools.

Working directly with the CEO during crucial Series A preparations, she transformed technical features into relatable experiences.

Her innovative approach to social media personas helped drive a 40 per cent surge in user engagement.

She reflects, “Financial technology can be intimidating.

“Our challenge was making it feel as natural as checking your social media.”

This understanding of digital user experience caught the attention of a leading content marketing firm, where Ajayi developed intuitive editing tools that slashed content production time by a third.

“Too often, we get caught up in the complexity of technology. The real win is making it invisible,” she said.

Her expertise then led her to a B2B company with traditional roots.

Ajayi saw an opportunity to leverage data in new ways. By implementing sophisticated market analysis tools and building a high-performing digital team, she achieved a 60 per cent improvement in campaign effectiveness.

Today, Ajayi is tackling perhaps her biggest challenge yet: working on a sustainability tracking platform that could reshape how global businesses approach environmental impact.

She explains, “We’re not just building another dashboard.

“We’re creating a tool that makes sustainability actionable and measurable across entire supply chains.”

Looking ahead, Ajayi continues to champion the seamless integration of technology and user experience.

She enthused, “The most powerful innovations happen when we stop thinking about technology for technology’s sake and start focusing on human needs first.”

As our interview wraps up, Ajayi shares one final insight, “Success in digital innovation isn’t about separating technical and marketing expertise. It’s about understanding how to make technology work for people, not the other way around.”

Her journey demonstrates that the most effective digital solutions emerge when technical capability and human understanding work in perfect harmony.
