President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of a Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State.

This was disclosed in a letter to Governor Seyi Makinde, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Sonny S.T. Echono, and dated 29th January, 2021.

For the immediate take-off of the polytechnic, the President also approved a N2 billion grant from the funding resources of TETFund for the provision of core facilities, according to the ministry.
This, it added, had been duly conveyed to TETFund for implementation.

Academic activities, according to Echono, are expected to commence in October 2021.

The letter stated, “In view of the above, a technical team from the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, will soon visit your state to identify the site in Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area and assess its readiness for commencement of academic activities in October 2021.”
