Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, on Wednesday, paid a historic visit to the hallowed chamber of the Senate.

Mrs Buhari’s visit to the hallowed floor of the Red Chambers of the National Assembly, is historical in the sense that she seems to be the first wife of a President to be received into the Senate Chambers.

She was in the Senate chambers to witness the laying of the report of the Senate Constitution Review Committee.

The Senate had deferred the submission of the report to a later time during the proceedings to allow Mrs Buhari to arrive.

The First Lady wass accompanied on the visit to the National Assembly by the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Pullen Tallen; the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; and some of her personal aides.
