The Chairman of the Borno State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Dauda Iliya, has charged the new officials of the Federal Information chapel to adhere strictly to the ethics of journalism and remain committed to union activities.
The Chairman gave the charge during the inauguration of the newly elected executive members of Federal Information Chapel.
Comrade Iliya informed members of the chapel of the just concluded NUJ Special Delegates Conference in Kano, where some sections of the constitution have been amended to further strengthen the union.
He promised to organise a one-day refresher training for SEC members as soon as the new constitution is available and they are expected to step down the training for members of their respective chapels.
The Chairman commended the immediate past leadership, under Comrade Bunu, for its dedication, unity and support to the journalism profession in the state.
The newly elected Chairman of the chapel, Comrade Hussaini Abdulhamid, promised to carry every member along in decision making process so as to move the chapel and NUJ forward.
He commended the NUJ leadership for coming up with a lot of innovations, noting that members of chapel have benefitted from training, retraining and other activities at the council level.
Other new elected executive members include: Litsandra Ishaya, Vice Chairman; Gloria Audu Gadzama, Secretary; Adamu Salisu, Assistant Secretary; Muniratu Salihu, Treasurer; Patience Hassan, Financial Secretary; and Mrs Abdusalam as the Auditor.
