…Acknowledges Complaints Of Late Arrival Of Material At Polling Units
The governor of Kebbi State, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on Saturday joined millions of Nigerians to excise his civic duty, by casting his vote at Garkar Mai Alelu polling unit, Nassarawa II, Birnin Kebbi.
The governor also expressed appreciation to Nigerians for turning out in large numbers to vote for leaders of their choices, even as he commended them for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the voting exercise.
Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari, is a statement said that Senator Bagudu expressed happiness about the good conduct of voters, while speaking to journalists after voting.
The governor also expressed appreciation to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the election.
He however acknowledged the complaints of late arrival of election materials to some polling units in the state, which delayed the commencement of the voting.
The governor also commended Nigerians for exercising their civic right in the election of a new President, members of the Senate and House of Representatives for the next four years.
Similarly, the two wives of the governor, Hajiya Aisha Atiku Bagudu and Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu, also voted at Garkar Mai Alelu, Nasarawa II polling unit.
In an interview with journalist after voting, they both expressed happiness about the large turnout of voters, especially women, urging women and youth to remain patient, courageous and law abiding as they cast their votes.
Hajiya Aisha and Dr. Zainab commended the INEC for introducing the BVAS machine, which has helped in improving the smooth conduct of the voting exercise.
