The Kwara State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has declared two Fulani herdsmen who escaped after allegedly attempted to rape and kidnap an 18-year-old lady in Kwara State wanted.
The herdsmen, before escaping, were said to have inflicted bodily harm on their victim, one Abdullahi Aisha, of Gamoleji village, Lafiagi in Edu Local Government Area of the state.
The state NSCDC spokesman, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in llorin on Friday.
He had said, “On Friday, 30th July, 2021, the Kwara State Command of the NSCDC, under the able leadership of its Commandant, Iskil Ayinla Makinde, received a report that one Abdulahi Aisha, 18, of Gamoleji village, Lafiagi was attacked by two Fulani herdsmen, who are now at large.”
He further said that in the fleeing Fulanis futile attempts to have canal knowledge of the lady, they attacked her with cutlass and left her with deep cuts due to her stiff resistance to the attempted rape.
Afolabi further disclosed that “some people later came to the rescue of the lady, while the suspects ran away, leaving the lady in the pool of her blood.”
Meanwhile, two of the cows the suspects left behind that were seized by the people have been taken into custody by the ‘Seriki Fulani’ of the community and ‘Dogo Baluji of Miyeti Allah’.
The two leaders of the Fulani comunity were said to have promised to fish out the perpetrators of the evil acts and hand them over to law enforcement agencies for neccessary actions.
