The window of the late petrel of Oyo State politics, late Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu, Alhaja Bose Adedibu, who is also the Women Leader ov the South-West Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has lamented the sudden exit of the Iku Baba Yeye, the Alaafin of Oyo State, Hi Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, describing it as the fall of a pillar of support to her family after the death of Chief Adedibu.

In a press release made available to newsmen this morning after iftar, Alhaja Adedibu described the exit of Oba Adeyemi, as a big blow to her and the household of the late Chief Adedibu

She said, “The entire household of the late Alhaji Ariyibi Lamidi Adedibu is writhing in pain and sorrow, because of the sudden ascending into the vault of the Alaafin of Oyo,Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, who was, until he breathed his last, a wonderful and awesome pillar of support to our family.”

She stated that out of all who promised heaven on earth after, the late Adedibu’s death, Kabiyesi, Oba Adeyemi was one of the very few people who proved to be friends of the late Adedibu after his death.

She added that “when it comes to the real matter of ‘s’oju ka s’eyin,’ that is, taking care of the family left behind by a deceased, Kabiyesi, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was exceptional. He was a pillar and a shield. He was a shelter who never waited for us to call for shelter. Kabiyesi was always there calling and asking after each of us.”

Alhaja Adedibu prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi saying, “I pray to Almighty Allah, the Beneficent and the Merciful to grant him mercy and forgive him all his sins.

“I appeal to all the family of Baba, my mothers, Iya Ile Koto, Mama Lawyer, all Oloris, all the Princes and Princess, the Oyo Mesi and the entire Oyo Alaafin Empire to let us seek fortitude in the fact that Baba Alaafin Adeyemi lived a beautiful and evergreen memorial life. Also remember, we, the Adedibus family of the great Antigisi clan of Oyo Alaafin are in this together. We have lost an irreplaceable soul. We have lost a father. We have lost an enigma. Only God can console us all. Yoruba race has lost an enigma. Aljaena firidus for his soul.”
