…Says He Was Dependable Friend
A former Senate Leader, distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, has joined other prominent Nigerians to mourn the governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, who died on Wednesday after a prolonged battle with prostate cancer.
Expressing pain and sadness over the demise of the governor of Ondo State, Ndoma-Egba, a close friend of the deceased, said Akeredolu was a humanist, patriot, dogged fighter, astute solicitor and leader par excellence.
The former Senate Leader further described the late governor as a strong advocate for constitutionalism, truth and justice, who contributed in no small measure to the entrenchment and sustenance of democracy and the growth of the legal profession in Nigeria.
He said Akeredolu would be greatly missed for his service to humanity, positive impacts in Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
Ndoma-Egba’s condolence message reads, “Humanity lost a humanist, Nigeria lost a patriot, Ondo State lost a leader, the family its pillar, and I, a dependable friend. He was vocal, held strong views and believed in his country. He was a crusader for constitutionalism, truth and justice. He has earned his place in Heaven. I pray that his life and memory console his family.”
