A pro-democracy organization, the Campaign for Dignity in Governance, CDG, has celebrated the Lagos State governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for passing its Dignity Test for the umpteen time, saying that he has not deviated from the path towards writing his name in gold through superlative performance as the man in the helm of affairs in the state.
Making this revelation in Lagos on Wednesday during a chat with our reporter, CDG’s Co-Convener, Titilope Akosa, who informed that Governor Sanwo-Olu has again met all the laid down criteria for winning the periodic test, commended the Lagos State number one citizen for his consistent in approach to governance that has made him the cynosure of all eyes among his counterparts from other parts of the country.
The woman activist insisted that Sanwo-Olu’s activities have been under scrutiny even ever before he became governor in 2019, adding that he has never derail in his antecedent as a man who walks his talk.
She expressed the delights that when the Lagos heksman eventually became governor, he has been managing the gubernatorial success with wisdom and humility.
Marvelling at how Sanwo-Olu has been implementing his 6-Point Agenda, code-named THEMES, targeted at executing projects across all the sectors of the Lagos economy, which he is spreading across the state evenly, Akosa added that, “in the case of Sanwo-Olu, it is one minute, one wonderful project, to the admiration of the good people of the state.”
Noting with delight that his performances have caught the attention of several local and international bodies that have showered encomium on him, Akosa reminded that his achievements have also attracted several awards both at home and abroad.
Among the awards in Sanwo-Olu’s kitty, according to Akosa, are the AfriSAFE international Award from the Health, Environment and Safety, HSE, Professionals/Practitioners for the Africa Safety Award for Excellence, AfriSAFE, 2020, Icon of the Year, that nominated Governor Sanwo-Olu, among other internationally respected personalities.
Akosa also recalled Sanwo-Olu’s performance during the high tempo of the global coronavirus pandemic, which attracted commendations from two international bodies, the World Health Organization, WHO, and the United Nations, UN, a development that portrayed Sanwo-Olu as a Messiah who saves his country in particular and the world as a whole from recording high rate of fatalities.
She reminded that the way he tackled the deadly virus at the entry point to Nigeria impeded its speed into the hinterland and thereby saved several lives from being untimely terminated, asserting that “what makes his style of governance interesting is that he does his things with high sense of humility and that earned him another pass mark in our latest Dignity Test.”
CDG insisted that with all the aforementioned qualities, coupled with his achievement in other sectors of the economy like: transportation – road, rail, and water; health; environment; security and education, among others, Sanwo-Olu has left nobody in doubt that he is committed to moving Lagos State to an Eldorado.
Akosa therefore urged the people to continue to give the governor more support to encourage him to do more, enthusing that “the man appears as someone who has more wonders up his sleeves to perform.”
