The Oyo State Health Insurance Agency, OYSHIA, has begun a robust Community-Based Health Insurance Scheme, CBHIS, in three communities in the state.

The official activation of the CBHIS and enrollment of Governor Seyi Makinde adoptees into the Oyo State health insurance scheme was held recently at Community Town Hall, Sepeteri, Saki East Local Government Area.

The Executive Secretary of OYSHIA, Dr. Olusola Akande, said this is in a bid to ensure that every resident has access to quality healthcare services.

Highlighting the essence of the community-based health insurance and enrollment of Governor Seyi Makinde’s adoptees into the CBHIS and the benefits accruable to community health insurance in Sepeteri under the scheme, Akande said that the sceme will complement the widely accepted OYSHIA scheme that covers some percentage of residents in the state, drawn from the formal and non-formal sector of the economy.

In her address, the Chairman, Saki East Local Government, Hon Ramat Adeniran Mosunmade, enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity they enjoyed from the state government.

The honorable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Alhaji Siji Lawal, urged the people to reciprocate Engr. Seyi Makinde gesture by supporting his administration for second term, so that they will continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The ceremony, which had the honorable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Honorable Lawal, Council of Sepeteri High Chiefs, chairman of the local government, Hon Adeniran-Mosunmade, and other government functionaries in attendance witnessed a remarkable outing.

In a related development, the train of Governor Seyi Makinde’s adoptees into the state health insurance scheme moved to Tede and Oje Owode communities.

The flag-off exercise, which took off on Tuesday, the 7th of March, witnessed distribution and collection of cards.

In his words of encouragement while hosting dignitaries of Tede and Oje Owode communities, the Executive Secretary OYSHIA, Dr. Akande advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the golden opportunity for their own advantage.

The dignitaries in Tede and Oje Owode communities were not left out, as they include: the Chairman, ATISBO Local Government Area, Honorable Fatai Fasasi, Deacon Mattew Kolawole Ogunkunle, the Chief Imam of Tede, Alhaji Sheikh Amada Tijani Adedigba, National President, Tede Indigenes, Comrade Layi Michael Ojo, community Chairman Oje Owode, Pastor Samson Olonade, CAN Chairman, the representatives of His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebimpe Adedoyin, Gbangbade Erun II, the Oni Tede of Tede.

The beneficiaries were full of joy and appreciation to the Governor Makinde-led administration.
