…Appreciates Kebbi Gov For Support
The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammed Mera, who also doubles as the coordinator of the Sultan Foundation, has expressed profound gratitude to the governor of Kebbi State, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, for his support, leading to his attendance at the third Assembly of African Conference for Peace.
The conference took place in Nouakchott, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
In a message, Alhaji Mera commended the Kebbi State government for the opportunity and the Sultan Foundation for the support, which facilitated his attendance of the peace conference.
The Emir, in the message said that the knowledge acquired will be used to bring about peace and development in the state in particular, and Nigeria as a whole.
The African Conference for Peace is one of the initiatives of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, attended by hundreds of ministers, officials, religious leaders and university researchers; and offers opportunity for rich debate on the importance of multi-sectoral approaches and practical proposal that will contribute to the strengthening of ties of cooperation among the various public, political actors, the business community and religious leaders for the promotion of peace and stability in Africa.
Issues discussed, according to Mera, covers unemployment, religious extremism, global health, security concern to the African continent and the world at large.
He said that suggestion were made, and resolutions were adopted, which would help government, research institutes and non-governmental organisations, NGOs, across the globe to contribute to world peace in a coordinated manner.
The third African Conference for Peace offers opportunity to acquire rich knowledge, which by His Royal Highness will use to bring about lasting peace in the state, through fruitful deliberations and brainstorming with other leaders at the top and grassroots.
