The Managing Director of Medview Airlines, Muneer Bankole has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
He was reportedly detained at the headquarters of the EFCC in Jabi, Abuja, on Monday, following an invitation extended to him by the anti-graft agency over alleged fraudulent practices concerning hajj airlifting operations.
CompassNG learnt that Bankole was invited over a case of alleged diversion of 50 per cent of funds paid to him by the National Hajj Commission, NHC, and additional $900,000 for the airlift of pilgrims in 2019.
It was alleged that Bankole received the funds as mobilisation, but did not execute the contract.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the EFCC Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest.
