About 250 intending pilgrims were screened by the Nasarawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board to perform this year’s 2020 pilgrimage exercise in the holy land.
Executive Secretary of the board, David Ayewa, disclosed this on Tuesday in Lafia while interacting with journalists, adding that the 250 intending pilgrims were ready for airlift to the holy land.
He said, “Out of the 250 intending pilgrims, those on the government seat are 204, while two are self-sponsored and 40 others are sponsored by local government areas of the state.
The Executive Secretary explained that due to the prevailing economic challenges, the board did not have the require numbers of self-sponsors for this year exercise.
He however admonished the intending pilgrims to conduct themselves in orderly manner when in the holy land to avoid being rejected from performing this year’s exercise.
