A group of widows operating in Cross River State under the umbrella of Imah Nsa Adegoke Foundation and Goodnews Widows Outreach, has thrown their weight solidly behind the aspiration of the Cross River State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Senator Sandy Onor and his deputy Emana Duke Amawhe, who are jostling to occupy the executive seat the state come 2023.
The president of widows in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, who spoke on behalf of other widows, Chief Agnes Dan, stated that the widows had never been political, stressing that having seen the undeniable capacity, intellect and love for Cross River State’s people in the lawmaker, they have decided to put their support for Sandy’s candidacy.
The widows gave an undisclosed amount of cash to support Sandy’s aspiration.
In his remarks, the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Onor lauded the widows for their support, stressing that he was truly very touched about their widows’ mite.
Onor, who promised to run an inclusive and purposeful administration if he is given the mandate to lead the state, said that his administration shall initiate policies and programmes that would impact on all, irrespective of social class, or religion.
The widows thereafter prayed for Senator Onor his deputy Emana and their team, entreating the Lord God to keep and prosper them.
